I started as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry before moving into TV production, cutting my teeth directing new formats and then moving into senior leadership on returning series. I have Directed, Series Produced and Exec Produced major titles for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and global broadcasters and streamers, including The Repair Shop, Inside the Factory, The One Show, Food Unwrapped, Diagnosis Detectives and the Digital BAFTA and Digital Emmy winning D-Day: As It Happened. Clear thinking under pressure, strong editorial judgement, and high volume or complex productions delivered on time and on budget.

That production background is why I work on digital production as well as AI. Both present the same challenge to UK production companies: a set of tools, workflows and audience behaviours that arrived faster than the industry built the skills, structures and economics to handle them. I advise television businesses on what digital-first production and AI actually mean for their operation, and I build the capability with them. I have developed digital-first formats for production companies, and I advise on how digital production capability is structured, staffed and costed.

My background in science and journalism means I take a grounded, evidence-based approach. I am not here to sell hype. I am here to help the industry understand what these tools can realistically do, where they fall short, and how to use them safely. I hold a Professional Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business (Distinction), along with further training in prompt engineering, process automation and generative AI strategy. My advisory and build work rests on formal management consultancy training as well as 17 years inside production. I also hold the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and have a long track record of workplace training, in both TV production and the science industries.
